Private by design. This tool runs entirely in your browser β€” nothing you enter or add is uploaded to any server.

How it works

  1. Paste CSV, choose comma, tab, or semicolon, and say whether the first row is a header.
  2. Press Convert to Markdown. Quoted fields can contain the delimiter.
  3. Copy the table into GitHub, GitLab, or any Markdown file that supports pipe tables.

Examples

  • A header plus two data rows becomes a three-line Markdown table with an alignment row.
  • Spreadsheet exports that use semicolons can be converted by switching the delimiter.
  • Pipe characters inside a cell are escaped so they do not break the table.

Frequently asked questions

Which Markdown flavor is this?

It emits GitHub-flavored pipe tables: a header row, a separator row, then one row per record. Left alignment is used.

Are quoted commas kept inside a cell?

Yes. A standard CSV quote wraps a field, and a doubled quote inside that field becomes a literal quote.

Is the spreadsheet uploaded?

No. Parsing and formatting run in your browser, so the pasted rows are not sent to ToolNova.
