π SERP Length Checker β Title and Description Limits
Paste a title and meta description. The checker counts characters and estimates pixel width so you can see what may be truncated in search results.
How it works
- Paste the title tag and meta description you plan to publish.
- Press Check length to count characters and estimate pixel width.
- Use the notes as a guide. Search engines still rewrite snippets and widths vary by device.
Examples
- A 58 character title is usually within a desktop snippet.
- A 170 character description is near the long end of common meta guidance.
- Wide letters such as W increase the pixel estimate faster than i or l.
Frequently asked questions
Are these official Google limits?
No. Google does not publish a fixed character cap. The checker uses widely cited planning ranges: about 580 pixels for titles and 920 for descriptions.
Why pixels and characters?
Snippets truncate by rendered width more than by character count. Both numbers are shown so you can judge either way.
Does this crawl my site?
No. It only measures the text you paste.
