π Palindrome Checker β Words, Phrases and Numbers
Type a word, sentence, or number and see immediately if it is a palindrome. You can ignore spaces, punctuation, and letter case for phrase checks.
How it works
- Enter the word, phrase, or number you want to test.
- Leave the filter on to ignore spaces, punctuation, and letter case, which is the usual rule for sentence palindromes.
- Press Check palindrome to see the cleaned text beside its reverse and a yes or no result.
Examples
- βracecarβ is a palindrome even with the filter off.
- βA man, a plan, a canal: Panamaβ is a palindrome when spaces and punctuation are ignored.
- β12321β is a numeric palindrome.
Frequently asked questions
What is a palindrome?
A palindrome reads the same forwards and backwards. Words, phrases, and numbers can all qualify depending on the rules you choose.
Why does my phrase fail when the filter is off?
Spaces, commas, and capital letters then have to match in reverse as well. Turn the filter on for the usual phrase test.
Are accented letters supported?
Yes. Letters are lowercased with Unicode rules and compared by character, so accented text is not stripped unless you ignore non-letters.
