π» Cron Expression Explainer β Five-Field Schedules
Paste a minute-hour-day-month-weekday expression. The explainer names each field and estimates the next few matching times in your local timezone.
How it works
- Enter five space-separated fields: minute, hour, day of month, month, day of week.
- Use * for any, commas for lists, hyphens for ranges and / for steps, such as */15 or 1-5.
- Press Explain to see a field-by-field reading and the next matching local times.
Examples
- 0 9 * * 1-5 means 09:00 on Monday through Friday.
- */15 * * * * means every 15 minutes.
- 0 0 1 * * means midnight on the first day of each month.
Frequently asked questions
Which cron dialect does this cover?
Standard five-field cron used by Vixie cron and many schedulers. It does not parse seconds, years, or names such as JAN or MON.
How are day-of-month and day-of-week combined?
If both fields are restricted, a time matches when either field matches, which is the usual cron OR rule. If either field is *, only the other field is applied.
Is the expression sent to a server?
No. Parsing and the next-run search happen in your browser. Results use your device timezone.
