π° Compound Interest Calculator β Future Value & Interest
Enter the principal, annual interest rate, number of years and compounding frequency. The tool shows the future value, total interest earned and a simple year-by-year balance.
How it works
- The standard compound interest formula A = P Γ (1 + r/n)^(nΓt) is applied, where r is the annual rate as a decimal and n is the compounding periods per year.
- Future value A includes principal plus all compounded interest. Total interest earned is A minus P.
- A year-by-year schedule shows the balance at the end of each complete year using the same rate and frequency.
Examples
- $10,000 at 5% compounded yearly for 10 years becomes approximately $16,288.95.
- The same $10,000 at 5% compounded monthly for 10 years becomes approximately $16,470.09.
- At 8% yearly for 5 years on $5,000 the future value is about $7,346.64.
